How to find your app's App Store and Google Play links

, 2 min read

Before you can share your app, you need its store links. They're easy to find once you know where to look.

Your App Store link

The quickest way is from the App Store app itself:

  1. Open the App Store on an iPhone and find your app.
  2. Tap the Share button on the app page.
  3. Tap Copy Link.

You can also open your app in App Store Connect, go to App Information, and use View on App Store.

A correct App Store link looks like this:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/your-app-name/id1234567890

The important part is the number after id. That's your app's unique Apple ID, and it never changes even if you rename the app. You can remove the country code (/us) so visitors from any country land on their local store:

https://apps.apple.com/app/id1234567890

Your Google Play link

From the Play Store app:

  1. Open the Google Play Store on an Android phone and find your app.
  2. Tap the three dots menu at the top of the app page, then Share.
  3. Copy the link.

Or build it yourself from your app's package name, which you can see in Google Play Console under your app:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.yourapp

The id= part is your package name. You can remove anything after it, such as &hl=en, so people see the store in their own language.

Common mistakes

Copying a search results URL. Links that contain search or ?q= open a search page, not your app. Make sure the link opens your app's own page.

Sharing a TestFlight or internal testing link by accident. Those only work for invited testers. Public visitors need the public store link.

Using a link before the app is live. Your Google Play link returns a "not found" page until the app is published, and your App Store link only works once the app is released.

Mixing up the two stores. Double-check which link goes in which field. An iPhone user sent to Google Play can't install anything.

Next step: share both as one link

Once you have both links, you don't have to post them separately. Paste them into Smart App Link and get one short link that sends each visitor to the right store. Read more about why one link works better than two.
